We have newly installed Sybase IQ.
Now the first problem why I cant find any installable for AIX SCC.
?
Second thing I have installed the SCC on my desktop and tried to connect to IQ server on AIX, its asking for a hostname and port. How do I find out whats the port number ?
Third thing, is there any command line interface like isql in Sybase ase and sqlplus in oracle?
We have experienced and issue with SAP IQ performance of sp_iqcheckdb 'verify database’ after completing a database restore. After completing a full restore of IQ we have noticed that the sp_iqcheckdb 'verify database’ command started utilizing all CPUs on the IQ host (18). `This caused severe performance issues for IQ Prior to the full database restore we did not see this issue. Our concern is that the restore may have changed and/or not loaded certain configuration parameters, please advise

SAP IQ typical installer only install SAP IQ Cockpit not SAP Control Center. For SAP Control Center, you will need to do custom install.
1. Set SYBASE environment variable pointing to IQ release directory
2. Set DISPLAY environment variable for GUI install
3. Launch installer:
./setup.bin
4.
5. Specify IQ release directory path
6. Select 'Custom' installation for installing SAP Control Center, 'Typical' installation will only install SAP IQ COCKPIT.

8. Select SAP Control Center
9. Check Install licensed copy of SAP IQ Server
10. Select country and Agree to SAP license terms.
11. Select 'Product Edition' and 'License Type'
12. Configure email alerts
13. Review Installation folder, Product Components and Disk Space required for the installation
14. Monitor SAP IQ 16 server suite installation
15. Specify SCC, RMI and TDS port or accept default port
16. Specify SCC administrator password
17. Review SCC Configuration Summary
18. Click 'Yes' start SAP Control Server
19. Configure IQ Cockpit - HTTP/HTTPS. RMI and TDS Ports
20. Select if you want installer to start IQ Cockpit, click next and then Done
21. Verify component installed in IQ release directory

We started a project with SAP IQ 16 & SAP Data Services 4.2.
I created a database for SAP IQ & started the development of SAP DataServices jobs.
But i have an issue regarding data loading in IQ.
When i try to load without the bulk loader, i have the following error message :
ODBC data source error message <sapiq.dbsys.lan> for operation <SQLExecute> : <[Sybase][ODBC Driver][Sybase
You have run out of space in IQDB_USR_DBSPC DBSpace.
But if i activate bulk loading, the job runs perfectly.
The IQDB_USR_DBSPC dbspace is 2GB large and i'm trying to load 5 MB of data. It seems unlikely that's a size issue.
I've granted rights for the iquser on the DB space.
I'm looking for any hints

Hi all,
I am evaluating the best way to update our SAP IQ 16.08 PL30 in order to fix some known issues.
Upgrading IQ the objective is to fix:
1) CR#763261
2) CR#781079
# option 1) Update to SAP IQ 16.08 PL35
In this case, looking release note, CR#763261 is declared fixed, but not the CR#781079.
# option 2) Update to SAP IQ 16.10 PL02
In this case, looking release note, CR#781079 is declared fixed, but not the CR#763261.
What do you suggest us?
In the future will SAP support only IQ 16.10 or also IQ 16.08 version, with which planning date?

You can install and manage Java Classes or Jar files using SAP IQ Cockpit. For installing and managing Java classes or Jar files into an SAP IQ database you will need 'Manage Any External Object' system privilege.
Launch SAP IQ Cockpit and connect to SAP IQ server. Click on Explore tab . Expand IQ server folder(for multiplex expand multiplex Management click on multiplex Server folder- select Node on which class will be installed) -> Compiled Objects -> External Environment -> Java ->Classes
Register SAP IQ Cockpit Agent
Authenticate SAP IQ Cockpit Agent
Bowse Java class path and click finish
Install second Java class
View or modify properties of Java Class
Click on Properties and modify property you want to change. If you do not required privilege, SAP IQ cockpit will display properties view in READONLY mode
Add comment
Click Apply and then OK
To delete Java class file, right click on class and select delete, review Java Class file information and click yes
To update Right click on class and select update . For update, provide path to Java class which is accessible to the SAP IQ System and click finish

I am a complete noob in Sybase IQ 15.7. I am trying to know whether the Sybase IQ server is running or not? We are using the Sybase IQ as NLS in Linux environment.
ps -ef | grep -i <sid> provides the following output -

Hi,
I'm facing an issue with SAP Data Services & IQ with null values management.
I have a column containing nulls.
If i try to use a select * from table where column is null, i have a correct output with DBISQL.
When i use SAP Data Services with function like NVL() or restrictions like COLUMN IS NULL, i have no correct output.
It seems like DS can't identify null values.
Is there any configuration to be done in SAP IQ platform to correct this behavior ?

I have a unserved license for my host. But the system always complains"no sysam license available". I copied the license file in the C:\Sybase\SYSAM-2_0\licenses folder already and check the lmp file for the database. I ve done everything but still no luck.
can anyone help me with this?

How does IQ prevents fractured/torn blocks on disk in the case a server crashes in the middle of a block write ?
Is the IQ checkpoint log used for this purpose (double write) and what exactly gets written into the IQ checkpoint log ?

We have a multiplex environment.
Have created dbspace_usage event in coordinator node to trace MAIN and TEMP dbspace usage.
Now i want to create an event to trace Secondary(reader) node TEMP dbspace usage. Here write is not allowed as the node is reader. So i am not able to create an event here.
Please let me know any related way to trace TEMP usage in reader node.

Using IQ 15.4 ESD#6 .
I'm looking for any tips or recommendations regarding the use of views that include select left/right outer joins, which afterwards they are referenced by a select statement that uses select union, i.e:
create or replace view1..
select left outer join... from <tables>
..
go
create or replace view2..
select left outer join..from <tables>
..
go
select <cols>
from view1 union select <cols> from view2...
go
We can have <N> views with <N> UNION statements which could be used in the SELECT that references them.
So the question is if this is a good way or is it preferable to replace the views with Temporary tables..?
Basically these queries are performing slowly and spending a lot o time in the "fetch process". I'm attaching just a sample query plan as HTML.
Also we activated sp_indexadvisor and some HG recommendations appeared

I did some research on Sybooks, found out that IQ seems only supports ssl protocol while using Web Server https connections.
And there is also some description about "-ec server option" referred to TLS.

Hi, i´m facing a problen with a project that involves multiple concurrent inserts and updates on a IQ table, i have read that in sybase IQ 16 you have the "blocking" option to deal with this, so we turned it on , but we are still facing the problem, the message says this :
transaction <number> attempted to access <table name> created by transaction <number>.
We tried with the default value (0 for indefinied) for the blocking_timeout option, as well as a very large value (100000) but still no luck,does anything else needs to be configurated for the "blocking" option to work?
Then we also tried with the RLV(row level versioning) aplied to this table, and it seemed to work well, however sometimes(and sometimes don´t) the Insert statements returns 2 duplicate values for the primary key(identity column).
For the problem of the duplicate identity column, we found the note "2208642 - SAP IQ: duplicate insert issue with RLV table" ,this note mentions an error that is very similar to mine and says that it is fixed in IQ 16 sp 10.03, but wen we go to service.sap to downloads, we can´t find this version ,the last one is :16.0 SP10 PL02 -> IQSERV160010P_2-20011184.ZIP EBF 25000 .
The inserts and updates have been tested outside stored procedures, inside stored procedures, with "commits" at the end, with commits at the beggining and we could not make it work.
Does anybody has any suggestions?
